The War-Doctor, portrayed by John Hurt, is one of the most
compley Incarnations of the Doctor, which was introduced with the
50th anniversary Special "Der Tag des Doktors".

He was the Doctor during the Timewar right up to the point where he got forced to make radical decisions to safe the Universe. This Incarnation distinguishes himself with a darker, more determined attitude because he has to fight
in a war without any compromises.
